Words from the FunMaster
Hello! 
My name is Trent Schumann and I'm the self appointed "FunMaster"
of this web site.
A while ago, I was wandering through the University and I noticed
a poster for a Renaissance Singers Christmas Concert.
Now, I'm not so into Renaissance music that I lose sleep hoping
that I don't miss the next performance. :-) (apologies
to David Wilson and the choir!)
I am, however, interested enough that if someone told me about
it, I would consider going.
Opportunity...
Then I thought about all the performances, events, courses etc.
that I'm missing simply because I don't have the time or inclination
to pore over various upcoming event listings.
I also know that a lot of people complain that there's nothing
happening in Calgary, or that it's too difficult to find the information,
so I'm not the only one with this problem.
On the other side, there are countless performances, events, courses
etc. that are trying to get their info to people.
If only people could easily get the info on the upcoming events
that interest them.
Then the idea took hold...What if there was a way to bring the
people with events and the people who are looking for them together?!
It just had to be done!!
The Work Gets Done...
Work started in earnest. Of course, as is almost always the
case with software development, it took twice as long as projected
and we hit all sorts of glitches along the way. (I should have
known... ;) And now you've got what you see before you.
The Good It Will Do...
I've got a strong belief that business and enterprise can be
one of the strongest forces for positive change. My feeling is
that we've become too isolated from each other and don't take advantage
of all the great opportunities to get out and enjoy our community. It's
too easy to just feed a DVD into the player and stay at home.
It's a real shame, especially considering the plethora of fun
and exciting events happening every single night in Calgary!
My intention is that AllMyFun.com will help Calgary become an
even more vibrant place with event providers easily getting their
information directly to interested people and AllMyFun members
instantly and easily finding all the events that interest them.
Of course, I could stop there, but I think that we can do even
more to give back to the community. Once we've recovered our development
costs, we will give 25% of all our Insider Membership dues to worthy
causes.
And in Conclusion...
Well, if you made it this far, thanks for your interest! I
sincerely believe that this service has the ability to make a change
for the better in people's lives. Now, quit reading this stuff,
find something fun to do and GO DO IT!
